Postgraduate Education Research Group

The remit of the group:

  • To achieve a global reputation for academic excellence in pedagogic research within Applied Health Sciences
  • We focus on theory-driven and theory-generating research which informs new approaches to teaching, learning, assessment and student support
  • We support research which has immediate impact on practice and more theoretical work which paves the way for changing thinking
  • We are a multidisciplinary team whose research includes both qualitative and quantitative paradigms

The Postgraduate Education Research Group has a new blog series to showcase and discuss teaching activity and pedagogical research within our group and to give voices to and raise the profiles of our staff, engage with our students beyond the classroom as well as potential future students, colleagues and maintain links with alumni. The blog is hosted by the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition website and can be found here.

We have a couple of recent interesting and inspiring blogs that we would like to share with you. The first one is titled Reimagining assessment in scaled up Work-Based Learning: a case study in Applied Health Sciences by Heather Morgan, Toni Gibson, Caroline Franco and Emily Cleland and can be found here.

The second is titled From One Academic Family to Another: My Move from RGU to UoA by Toni Gibson. You can read about Toni's transition, challenges and newfound horizons here.
