Do Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) reduce the appearance of sacroiliac joint bone marrow oedema on MRI, in spondyloarthritis? (DyNAMISM)

Duration: 01 September 2016 - 30 September 2020
Funder: Versus Arthritis
Chief investigator: Professor Gareth Jones
Study Coordinator: Laura Moir

The aim of this study is to determine whether patients with axial spondyloarthritis (or with suspected axial spondyloarthritis) should stop taking their anti-inflammatory medication for a short period, prior to having an MRI scan, to allow doctors to assess any inflammation more accurately. The DyNAMISM Study investigates the question: Do Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) reduce the appearance of sacroiliac joint bone marrow oedema on MRI, in spondyloarthritis?
