Thanks so much to Bea Dawkins and Fionnuala Cousins of the Health Determinants Research Collaboration Aberdeen (HDRC Aberdeen) and everyone who attended the IAHS seminar today. It was really great and generated a lot of discussion.
Bea and Fionnuala’s presentation was entitled: “Bridging the Gap: A How-to Guide for Academics looking to Collaborate with Aberdeen City Council”
It was great to hear about how the council is structured, how decisions are made, and how as researchers we can speak the council’s language and engage more effectively with the council to turn our research into real-world impact relevant to our local communities and beyond.
The presentation and Q&A were great and from the follow up conversations over coffee it feels like the start of lots of new ideas and connections.
Look out for the next IAHS Seminar in 2026!
