The Networked Data Lab team in Grampian Jessica E Butler, Frank Popham, Corri Black, Raul Berrocal-Martin, Sharon Gordon and Irmina Zborowska, the Grampian Data Safe Haven (DaSH) Team, and the NDL Grampian PPIE Group, are delighted to be part of this important work highlighting:
- Wait times vary across population groups and between specialties.
- Patients from more deprived areas and ethnic minority patients wait longer.
- GP appointments and issuing prescriptions are the most common health care events among patients waiting for treatment.
- Patients living in more deprived areas have higher healthcare use: More A&E visits and emergency admissions before, during, and after waiting.
The publication is accompanied by a blog on working with the Waiting List Minimum Dataset (WLMDS). The briefing paper received coverage from Sky News this morning.
