She completed her BSc in Pharmacology at the University of Manchester and then went on to complete her MSc in Clinical Pharmacology at King’s College London. Azar has 8 years of experience working in the clinical research industry and has also been an active member of a NHS research ethics committee for 4 years.

Azar’s main research interest lies in improving methodological practices in trials, especially related to ways in which trial teams can design, conduct, and report trials to be more inclusive for underserved groups. Her PhD project is titled ‘Making it easier for trial teams to design inclusive trials’, with a key focus on the already existing INCLUDE Frameworks and how they can be improved to also consider any intersectionality that exists between groups. Her other interests include research ethics, recruitment, and retention in trials.
