Aberdeen Medico Chirurgical Society Room 402 Suttie Centre, Foresterhill

The University of Aberdeen 2026 MBChB Graduates, who were awarded Elective Bursaries by the Society to facilitate their final year studies, will be invited to compete for the Adam Quaich by presenting their elective findings to the meeting with the audience selecting the winner. Presenting this year are:

Rachel Hopkins - Dr Mary Esselmont Bursary - 'Pre-operative predictors of poor outcomes in Paediatric Typhoid intestinanal perforation in Blantyre, Malawi: a retrospective review.'

Jeffrey Wang Lee - Prof John Mallard Bursary - 'Impact of gender and obesity in acute Type A Aortic Dissection: a retrospective cohort study.'

James Pederson - Sir Ashley MacIntosh Bursary - 'Has improved communication led to futher isolation? A survey focusing on mood disorders in adolescents, international migration and political discourse in Nepal'

Aravind Subramanian - Sir Patrick Manson Bursary - 'Implementing a School based CPR and Tropical Diseases Prevention Programme in India: Educational impact and knowledge outcomes

Louis Ruddy - Sir James McGrigor Bursary - 'When choice is not a choice: a qualitative study on type 2 diabetes melitus and depression in Kuching'

Morgan Hina - Prof Hans Kosterlitz Bursary- 'Substituting reusable alternatives for disposable medical equipment in the Western Pacific: a scoping review'
