About

Biography

I am a current Speciality Trainee in Trauma & Orthopaedics on the North of Scotland rotation, as well as a SCREDS Clinical Lecturer with the University of Aberdeen.

I have a long standing interest in research, having previously graduated from the Academic Foundation Programme and also the Aberdeen Clinical Academic Training programme during my medical training. I also undertook an intercalated degree at Loughborough University whilst a medical student where I achieved first class honours.

My primary research interests include the use of routinely collected healthcare data to improve outcomes for orthopaedic patients, particularly focusing on lower limb arthroplasty and trauma. I have published a number of first author articles within this area, and presented this work nationally and internationally. I currently sit on the steering group for the Scottish Hip Fracture Audit, and I am the current quality improvement and research sub-group chair. I am also heavily involved in the Scottish national trainee led research collaborative in Trauma & Orthopaedics (ScotNET) and the current Bone And Joint Infection Registry (BAJIR) fellow.

I am currently undertaken a CSO Clinical Academic Fellowship which commenced August 2021. This explores potential improvements in clinical care pathways for those referred for hip and knee replacement surgery, utilising data-linkage and Artificial Intelligence techniques.

I am always happy to be contacted for potential project ideas or collaboration.
