This is a past event

The talk looks at the history and development of hospitals in Aberdeen from the founding of the Infirmary at Woolmanhill in the 1730s.

Using records held by NHS Grampian Archives you will hear why hospitals were founded and how their functions reflected the changing healthcare needs of the population. The NHS celebrated its 70th anniversary in July 2018, and the talk will show how things were before the introduction of the act, and the differences and similarities which faced those who look after our health.
