HERU will host visits from Professor Deborah Marshall, Karen MacDonald and Professor Stirling Bryan.
In June, HERU will host visits from three researchers based in Canada. Professor Deborah Marshall and Karen MacDonald are based at the University of Calgary and Professor Stirling Bryan at the University of British Columbia. Stirling is a part-time member of staff at HERU and will be in the unit from 5th June for one week. Professor Marshall also arives on the 5th June and will be in the unit over the summer. Karen MacDonald is a Research Fellow with Professor Marshall and arrives at HERU on the 12th June. Additionally, Ophélie Bezannier, an MSc student in Health Economics at the University of Paris-Est Creteil (UPEC) in France, will be in the Unit over June and July to work on a project looking at risk preferences and physician migration.
While they are in HERU, Stirling Bryan and Professor Marshall are delivering a seminar for the Institute of Applied Health Sciences (IAHS) at the university on 'Patient engagement in health research. What's happening in Canada? What learnings for Scotland?' The seminar takes place on the 8th June at 3.30pm in the IMS Building.
