HERU aims to deliver research into economic approaches to health and healthcare at standards of international excellence; to develop and apply economic techniques to improve healthcare and population health in Scotland and make available to the health service a body of expertise in health economics.

We work collaboratively with the Health Services Research Unit, and across the Institute of Applied Health Sciences at the University of Aberdeen, on our shared research objectives of evaluating healthcare interventions, improving research practice, and designing better healthcare.

Research at HERU is structured into four themes.
