Ontology Authoring in Controlled Natural Language
The talk will outline the highlights of the SWAT project (Semantic
Web Authoring Tool), and focus in particular on the ontology editing
tool and the controlled language on which it is based. The topics
covered will be as follows:
* Corpus studies on how OWL is used in practice
* Generating coherent texts from ontologies (verbalisers)
* Suggesting names for classes etc. using text analysis
* Suggesting axioms using analysis of class/property names
* Generating explanations for entailments
* Authoring ontologies in a novel CNL-based editing tool
The editing tool uses a new controlled language (OWL Simplified
English) that is based on our empirical studies of how axioms and
entity names are formed in practice.
