To help set the scene for this evening’s concert, Tunes O Hame, Ronnie Gibson will give a talk about the fiddle in North-East Scotland, illustrated by live demonstrations and rare archive recordings. Ron will trace the long history of the instrument in the region over three centuries, and explore the rich heritage of associated tunes and folklore. Leading composers, performers and organisations will also be discussed, with a firm emphasis on the incredible diversity of practice both now and in the past.
