Natalie joined the University of Aberdeen in 2005 as an undergraduate student and graduated in July 2014 with a PhD in Language Policy and Planning. In 2018 she joined the Business School as School Administration Coordinator for postgraduate taught students, and, since February 2021, Natalie supports research students and staff in the Business School.
Natalie has experience from both sides of the PhD process which will help support you in the process.

Andrew Smith is the former owner of Aberdeen Business Network (ABN), a business he ran for 15 years before selling at the end of 2022. He is a former Entrepreneurial Supporter of the Year and Grampian Business Networker of the Year
This year he published 'Cows Not Cow: How To Make Your Business Networking Really Work', an insight into running and attending hundreds of networking events, speaking with thousands of attendees and helping networkers from all sectors benefit as much as possible from their networking experience.

Professional Development Week Film Night
Come and Join the Business School and watch “The Founder” starring Michael Keaton as Ray Kroc, a salesman from Illinois, who met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California.
The Founder is an American biographical drama film directed by John Lee Hancock and written by Robert Siegel. Starring Michael Keaton as businessman Ray Kroc, the film depicts the story of his creation of the McDonald's fast-food restaurant chain, which eventually involved forcing out the company's original founders to take control with conniving ruthlessness. Nick Offerman and John Carroll Lynch co-star as McDonald's founders Richard and Maurice McDonald, alongside Linda Cardellini and B. J. Novak as McDonald's president and chief executive Harry J. Sonneborn.

Previously on the Board of NZTC, Gillian has spent over 20 years in the energy sector. Working in the sector provided global travel opportunities and the chance to live in Malaysia and the US. Most of her career has been in oilfield services in roles ranging from Applications Engineer, Well Systems Engineer, Europe Sales Manager, Southern Asia Pacific Area Manager, Vice President Asia Pacific, Vice President Corporate Development & Marketing and Vice President Europe, Russia, CIS & Sub-Sahara Africa. Her focus has been on new technology development and she has been involved in the commercialisation of several cutting edge technologies. Gillian is passionate about the role innovation will play in the energy transition. A biochemistry graduate from Aberdeen University, she also has a Masters in Oil and Gas (Offshore) Engineering from the Robert Gordon University and completed a Business Sustainability Management course at the Cambridge Institute of Sustainability Leadership

Mark has been talking Recruitment and Employability for over 11 years, working across various industries, both in agency and in-house for employers directly, His mission is simply to make applying for jobs a positive experience for everyone, supporting people in recognising how good they are and being able to tell their professional story confidently . He has supported the recruitment for businesses globally, working for BrewDog and Minor Figures, but it's here in the North-East where he enjoys contributing the most impact for people and employers.
In 2021, he set up his own Career Coaching business, See-Me Employability Coaching and alongside this, works full time as a Recruiter for Motive Offshore Group, a leading energy industry specialist with roots firmly in Aberdeenshire. Delivering a great candidate experience, ensuring feedback is provided to all and building employer brands are areas that Mark loves being part of and he wants to marry his experience of working with hiring managers and key decision makers, and supporting many candidates to help everyone get the most out recruitment and their careers.
