John Calvin was one of the leading Protestant theologians and reformers of 16th century Europe and a figure of particular and profound influence on Christian faith, thought, piety, ministry and mission in the Reformed churches of Scotland and beyond. Ecclesiastical leader, biblical commentator, preacher, doctrinal thinker and author of what must be one of the most influential theological works to emerge from the Reformation, the Institutes of the Christian Religion, Calvin’s influence remains hugely significant and controversial.
This day-long workshop, ‘Calvin for Pastors’ invites you to engage in reflection and lively conversation with Aberdeen faculty, interested ministers and students about the abiding impact and contemporary importance of the life and work of the Genevan reformer. The day’s worship, seminars, lectures and fellowship promises to be a time of renewal, provocation and inspiration.
