Leader of Scottish Opera and celebrated violinist Tony Moffat presents a recital of music for solo violin. Scottish composer Sally Beamish takes inspiration from the great 20th-century violinist-composer Fritz Kreisler, in a work commissioned for the Carl Nielsen Violin Competition in 2019. The transcendental Partita in D Minor is rightly famed, but lesser-known and inventive work by Swedish violinist Johan Roman shows that Bach wasn’t writing such works in isolation.
