This programme brings together a varied programme of English songs from both sides of the Atlantic, exploring folk traditions and the rich heritage of British poetry. We will hear songs by Samuel Barber, Gerald Finzi, Frank Bridge, Herbert Howells, John Ireland, and Errollyn Wallen.
