Jane Forner (Teaching Fellow in Music) hosts a film screening of ORFEAS2021, a queer sci-fi video opera'.'

You are warmly invited to a film screening on May 4th 2022 at 17:30 of ORFEAS2021, a “queer sci-fi video opera”. The first queer opera in Greek is a post-modern sci-fi experimental work inspired by Claudio Monteverdi's L'Orfeo, oscillating between baroque melodrama, DIY collage, post-internet and VR/AI aesthetics. The film is dedicated to the memory of Zak Kostopoulos/Zackie Oh, a queer performer and activist, murdered in 2018 in the centre of Athens. The screening will be preceded by a Q&A with Foivos Dousos joining us on Zoom from Greece, one of the librettists and one half of the Athens-based conceptual audiotextual performance and curation duo FYTA (https://www.f-y-t-a.com/). Time: 17:30 Approx. running time of film: 1hr 50 minutes. This event is open to the public.
