This Saturday (14 November), 18:00 - 19:30, As part of the School of Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture series of online events for the Being Human Festival, Ensemble Thing will present Systems_Theory, a meditation for cello, electronics and video performed by Emily De Simone.
This performance will reflect upon the physical self and our connections to nature through music and video and includes work by composers Thomas Butler, Shona Mackay, Emily De Simone and John De Simone. The programme also includes a screening of Hannah Imlach’s artist film Fieldwork, which documents a series of sculptural “instruments” inspired by peatland ecology and restoration in the Flow Country (Caithness and Sutherland). Followed by a Q&A session with the composers and performer, moderated by Jonathan Hicks.
