Biography

Amanda Cardy has been the Northeast Coordinator for the NRS Primary Care Network (previously called The Scottish Primary Care Research Network [SPCRN]) since 2005.  The Network is funded by the CSO to facilitate high quality research in primary care.

The Network can help with a wide range of projects in terms of topic, study design, geographical scope and funding (publicly funded or commercial), and can advise on study design and what may be achievable in primary care.  Once projects are 'ready to go' Network staff can liaise between researchers and primary care (predominantly GP practices) to recruit practices to studies and invite suitable patients.

Amanda welcomes enquiries from researchers at any stage of their research.

Current Research

I am the Grampian co-ordinator for the NRS Primary Care Research Network, a framework established in 2002 to coordinate national research activity in primary care.  As part of a national network I am able to facilitate Scotland-wide studies as well as local projects.  I am based in Academic Primary Care in the Polwarth Building.

If you have a project that you think might be relevant to Primary Care please get in touch, the earlier the better!
