Tanja Ostojić is visiting Aberdeen to participate in the Festival of Politics 2016 and International Women’s Day. The workshop "Misplaced Women?" is part of the Festival of Politics 2016, which takes place in Aberdeen from 23rd March-3rd April 2016. Full programme is available on the Festival's website: https://aberdeenfestivalofpolitics.wordpress.com/ During the workshop with Tanja Ostojić, women are invited and encouraged to share migration experiences and enact the "Misplaced Women?" performance. Tanja Ostojić is a renowned Serbian performance artist based in Germany whose artworks engage with feminism and migration. "Misplaced Women?" is an art project which includes performances, workshops, and delegated performances ongoing from 2009. The project involves the unpacking of a suitcase or handbag in a public sphere which signifies a displacement, as the everyday experience of transients, migrants, war and disaster refugees. Participants of all backgrounds are welcome, and there will be translation into Polish if required. The event is free of charge but booking is essential.
