Distinguished Belgian violinist Nathalie Vanballenberghe, headlines the University of Aberdeen Symphony Orchestra’s second concert of the academic year with a dazzling interpretation of Mozart’s wonderful Violin Concerto No 3. The powerful, fiery and energetic Fifth Symphony by Shostakovich concludes the evening’s concert in a blaze of orchestral virtuosity as the young musicians of Aberdeen University get to grips with one of the most powerful artistic statements of the twentieth century.
