This is a past event

Karen Darke is a graduate of the University of Aberdeen. Her life changed forever when she fell from a cliff and was paralysed from the chest down. Karen's inspiring story tells how her determination has led to a remarkable life.

Karen continues to pursue extreme outdoor sports and has undertaken a number of incredibly challenging expeditions across the world, motivating others by overcoming extraordinary challenges along the way. This is your opportunity to hear how belief, motivation and commitment can defeat even the greatest of barriers.

To book your free place and if you require any further information about the event, please contact Janine Chalmers (University of Aberdeen Equality and Diversity Adviser).

There will be a drinks reception held afterwards hosted by the University of Aberdeen Alumni Department in the James Mackay Hall.

This is a partnership event between the University of Aberdeen and The Aberdeen City Alliance and is part of the Diversity and Equality fortnight. For more information about other events taking place during the fortnight, please contact Faiza Nacef from Aberdeen City Council by e-mail FNACEF@aberdeencity.gov.uk or telephone 01224 523183.

All welcome, admission free.
