Come and celebrate 150 years of the Aberdeen Music Hall with a fascinating lecture from the University of Aberdeen.

As part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Aberdeen Music Hall, Professor Dave Benson from the Institute of Mathematics and Dr David Smith of the Music Department at the University of Aberdeen will be presenting a special lecture on the evolution of musical scales and harmony. Using various instruments and demonstrations the presenters will take the audience on a historical journey illustrating along the way how mathematics can prove a useful tool in our perception of music. This lecture is part of the TechFest festival and is jointly supported by The British Science Festival in partnership with Aberdeen Performing Arts.
