The Environmental Arts and Humanities Research Centre Reading Group continues for the 2026-7 academic year, led by Ines Kirschner. All are welcome to join.
Please join us for our first reading group event of the term on Wednesday, 4th November, from 3–4pm, in Crombie A03. For this in person event, we will be going on a (figurative) walk in the Cairngorms, with two short sections of Nan Shepherd’s The Living Mountain (2011/1977) and an excerpt from Cal Flyn’s The Savage Landscape (2026).
Our theme for this term is ‘wilderness’, and we will return to The Savage Landscape, which has just won the Wainwright Prize for conservation writing, at our second reading group event in December.
Please contact Ines Kirschner for copies of the readings or for any other information (ines.kirschner4@abdn.ac.uk).
