"How does solid state chemistry have an influence on battery materials and processes?"

We are delighted to announce the final Advanced Centre for Energy and Sustainability (ACES) seminar of this academic term. The seminar will take place between 10:00 and 11:00 on Monday 6th July 2026. Please join us in St Mary's G15 for refreshments at 10:00, prior to the seminar which will begin around 10:15. Our speaker will be Dr Elizabeth (Lizzie) Driscoll, an Assistant Professor in Energy Materials from the School of Metallurgy and Materials at the University of Birmingham. Lizzie will be discussing her work on how solid state chemistry can have an influence on battery materials and processes. Staff and students from all disciplines and level are welcome. We particularly encourage undergraduate and PGT students to attend. Events such as this provide you with an opportunity to learn from and discuss with experts in areas that you may be interested in as a future career. Furthermore, it will provide you with experience attending conference/networking style events, as part of your professional development. Please feel free to pass this invite onto any colleagues who may be interested. In addition, Lizzie will be holding an outreach workshop from 11:00-13:00. Information on this will follow.
