Named for long-time friend and benefactor Professor Derek Ogston CBE. The Ogston Prize is the University of Aberdeen's annual music performance prize.

Date: Thursday 30th April 2026

Time: 7.30-9.30pm (door open at 7pm)

Venue: Main Hall, King's Pavilion

Admission: FREE!

 The University's annual music performance competition, dedicated to long-time friend and benefactor of the department, Professor Derek Ogston CBE.

Our judging panel:

Professor Pete Stollery (Composer, previous Head of School of Education and Head of Music at the University of Aberdeen)

Dr John De Simone (Composer and Senior Lecturer in Composition at the University of Aberdeen)

Professor Michelle MacLeod (Personal Chair in Gaelic and the Head of School of Language, Literature, Music, Film and Visual Culture).
