This annual David Buchan Lecture has been rescheduled from 4 December 2025 to Wednesday, 27 May 2026
Please note that this event begins at 5.30pm.
To celebrate our 30th anniversary, this year’s speaker will be Institute director Thomas A. McKean, who will focus on his work in Scotland, Guatemala, and New York City to show how culture and community are closely intertwined.
He will discuss how song, weaving, and boatbuilding traditions are used to build cultural confidence in projects around the world.
