Offshore Wind at Aberdeen - part 1: Internal Capacity Mapping and a Roundtable on Interdisciplinary Research in Offshore Wind
-

This is a past event

Join us for an internal capacity mapping event focusing on existing knowledge and research applicable to offshore wind within the University of Aberdeen.

This event aims to bring together University of Aberdeen researchers who are interested or actively involved in research applicable to offshore wind (OW) energy in the broadest, interdisciplinary sense and map our existing capabilities in OW through an interdisciplinary workshop during which:

  1. Interested parties from multiple departments will have the opportunity to present their current work and expertise during a knowledge sharing session
  2. There will be opportunities to explore potential internal synergies and collaboration
  3. Pitch and discuss interdisciplinary project ideas applicable to OW

The event will be of interest to all researchers who are already working in the field of offshore wind as well as anybody who is interested in knowing more and exploring research opportunities. The internal workshop is aimed at generating internal collaborations and project ideas as well as material for an external-facing information package that will showcase our research capacity and expertise in OW.

Lunch and an opportunity to network will be provided during the event. The research pitch session is intended to take place after the lunch break.

All are welcome to join. To register for this event, express interest in showcasing research or pitch a project idea please RSVP by emailing interdisciplinary@abdn.ac.uk.

This event will be followed by an industry/regulator/stakeholder-academia roundtable held later in the year. The second event will seek to discuss and understand challenges facing the OW sector with external parties and identify research opportunities, stimulate knowledge exchange and explore  existing knowledge gaps.
