Being overweight or obese increases the risk of many health conditions including type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancers. We will look at why increasing the amount of fat tissue we have in our bodies can lead to disease. We will also discuss bariatric surgery, which can be a highly effective treatment for obesity and how it can have some surprising effects on health.
