In this webinar, we will focus on the role of private international law in implementing the sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda. The edited volume The Private Side of Transforming our World (Intersentia, 2021) demonstrates that private international law is as an integral part of the global legal architecture needed to turn the SDGs into reality. This webinar will explore private international law’s transformative potential in reflecting the values and achieving the aims laid down in the SDGs. It will also highlight, however, that it is essential to assess the impact of contemporary approaches in PIL on the realisation of the SDGs in a changeable legal landscape.
