Visit a Stone Age re-enactment at the University of Aberdeen campus
Join us at King's College for a morning of ancient archaeology and discovery at this free, family friendly event!
Living prehistorian Jonathan Cope will bring the Stone Age to life with an exhibit of replica stone age tools, clothing and art, as well as demonstrations of flint knapping, cordage and fire making.
Also discover the work of Mesolithic Deeside, a group of archaeologists, students and local volunteers investigating the River Dee area 10,000 years ago, at their stand and meet curators from Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums who will have a range of stone age objects on display
Also take a free tour of King’s College and learn about the history of the college and the University of Aberdeen with Scot Free Tours. Tours start at 10am, 11am and midday and last around 30 mins. Places are free but booking is essential:

Part of the “Prehistory on the Edge” conference, a two-day event which is also open to all to attend and is Aberdeenshire Council Archaeology Service and Explorathon 2022, Scotland's celebration of research. No booking is required to visit the re-enactment and attend the tours, but booking is essential for the conference (more information here).
