Join us for this fascinating talk to celebrate Walter Scott and explore his relevance today.

As his monument in Edinburgh’s Princes Street attests Walter Scott is central to Scotland’s history and heritage. However, while he is recognised as an iconic writer his relevance for today is too often forgotten.

Over the last thirty years, the Walter Scott Research Centre at the University of Aberdeen has worked to rediscover his role in our heritage and to look at aspects of his work that speak to our experience today.

This event will showcase the work of the Centre’s staff and students and explore some of the projects that have marked Scott250, a yearlong celebration of the 250th anniversary of Walter Scott’s birth.
