Join Dr. Irakli Patchkoria, researcher and lecturer from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Aberdeen, for a 20 minute talk on his research field.

The Talk

What is a knot, doughnut, or Platonic solid? We hear you…” how is this maths and how would classifying this help solve any problems!?”.  Join Irakli to find out!

Through interesting facts and examples, we will be given an introduction to topology, where we will explore interesting geometric objects and learn how this research is useful in maths and to other areas of science.
