An informal way to engage with the latest topics in science

Some ideas, products or behaviours experience explosions of popularity. Paradoxically, this is often observed for products that are not appealing at first sight. Join us to find out how maths can explain the paradox and see how similar ideas could be used to save more lives by vaccinating fewer people.

Our Cafe Scientifique Aberdeen City series takes place monthly in Waterstone's Union Bridge book store in Aberdeen's Union Street, usually around the middle Wednesday of the month. Sessions run from January through to October and are free to attend. No booking is required and places are allocated on the first-come basis
