Explore how meeting society's increasing demand for energy while reducing emissions is calling for smarter, and more efficient technologies.
Join Dr Euan Bain from the University of Aberdeen in this free talk to examine meeting society’s increasing demand for energy whilst reducing emissions, and the fascinating challenge that this presents. Existing processes and technologies must be made more efficient and less polluting whilst new infrastructure required to harness renewables must be developed. In this talk we’ll look at the nuts and bolts of power generation, how our energy system has changed, and take a tour of the energy storage technologies which allow us to store the surplus power generated by intermittent, renewable sources.
Stuff Worth Knowing talks explore topics worth knowing about. Scheduled with convenience in mind, these talks are free and suitable for 16+ years in general.
