'Frenemies' - The musical rivalries of the Baroque Era.

Music rivalries were rife in the Baroque and Handel was all too often in the middle.Tangles with Handel took many forms: snide remarks in music treatises, keyboard showdowns, colliding opera companies and even a duel with swords. Aberdeen Early Music Collective perform the chamber music of the antagonists, including Mattheson, Marpurg, Porpora, Scarlatti, Telemann as well as Handel's Gloria.
