A group that promotes engineering as a career choice for young people is hosting a key seminar at the University of Aberdeen later this month.
AFBE-UK Scotland is a not-for-profit body run by professionals who give up their time to provide industry insights to pupils, students and graduates.
The organisation is holding the latest of its Real Projects seminars on Thursday, April 27. The event – Asset Integrity Management in the Current Climate – will look at cost-effective solutions to improve processes and infrastructure.
The evening will cover the role of asset integrity management; identifying new technologies; optimising integrity management and management of life extension projects.
The presentation will be led by asset integrity consultant, Dotimi Egbuson, who works with a global operator and an international engineering business. He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer (CEng) with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and a Chartered Manager (CMgr) and member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
Dr Ollie Folayan, chair of AFBE-UK Scotland, said: “Dotimi brings a wealth of expertise on a variety integrity management issues to this event and we are delighted he is sharing this knowledge at our latest Real Projects seminar.”
AFBE-UK Scotland is the Scottish division of AFBE-UK, a registered not-for-profit organisation which encourages all young people, particularly those of black and minority ethnic (BME) origin, to pursue a career in engineering.
The group runs around 20 events annually and has helped more than 650 pupils and students across its three main programmes – NextGen, Transition and Real Projects.
