Funding Bodies
Our research has attracted much funding over the years. We started with small, project specific grants from, among others, the Association for the Study of Medical Education (ASME) and the Higher Education Academy (HEA). In the last 10 years or so, our staff have lead or collaborated on significant grants totalling over £4 million UK. This funding has been awarded via competitive processes from a range of national funding bodies including:
- Asthma UK
- Chief Scientist Office, Scottish Executive
- General Medical Council (GMC)
- General Practitioners in Airways Group (GPIAG)
- Health Quality Improvement Partnership (HQIP)
- Medical Schools Council (MSC) and the Selecting for Excellence Group (SEEG)
- NHS Education for Scotland (NES)
- Pharmacy Practice Research Trust
- Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain
- World Health Organization (WHO)
We have also attracted significant local funding from NHS Grampian Endowments Fund and the University of Aberdeen Development Trust.
PhD Scholarships
CHERI internal PhD candidates are funded by:
- Ministry of Health, Kuwait
- Surgical Royal Colleges (Ireland, Glasgow, Edinburgh and England)
- UKCAT Research Consortium
- Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau
Travel Grants
CHERI members have been awarded travel grants from:
- The Association of Commonwealth Universities
- Medical Education
- Treaty of Windsor Programme (British Council)
