Biography

As a Careers Adviser at the University of Aberdeen, I provide individual and group careers information, advice and guidance to a multidisciplinary case load of students and recent graduates and am the lead Careers Adviser contact for the Schools of Language, Literature, Music and Visual Culture, and Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition.

I achieved my Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education Careers Information, Advice and Guidance from the University of Warwick (in collaboration with AGCAS, the Association of Graduate Careers Advisery Services, of which I am a member).  I am also an ILM Level 3 Coach, achieved through the University of Aberdeen, an Accredited Belbin Practitioner, Associate Fellow of Advance HE (formerly HEA), and an #IamRemarkable facilitator.

In addition to careers advising, I am responsible for the University of Aberdeen's co-curricular initiative, the Pathway to Success, and previously lead the Leadership Academy.   I have developed an online extension skills award: the ILM Level 2 Award in Leadership and Team Skills.

Having been part of the Careers Service team since 2007, I am also highly experienced in managing work placement programmes and in developing employability opportunities, including the award winning "Aberdeen Internship" for undergraduate students.
