Professor honoured as Fellow of the British Academy of Management

Professor Zaheer Khan of the University of Aberdeen has been conferred as a Fellow of the British Academy of Management in recognition of his sustained and distinguished contribution to scholarship in the international business and management community, as well as for services to the Academy.

The Academy is the leading authority in the UK for business and management research. Its College of Fellows plays a vital role in promoting world-class research, supporting emerging scholars, and influencing policy and practice in management education.

One of the highest honours in the field, the Fellowship is awarded annually to scholars who have demonstrated excellence in research and made a significant impact on the academic and practitioner communities.

A Professor in Strategy and International Business and the founding director of the Africa-Asia Centre for Sustainability at the University of Aberdeen Business School, Professor Khan’s work focuses on global technology management, international alliances, post-acquisition behavior of emerging markets' firms, automotive industry, internationalisation of SMEs, and CSR practices of firms operating in emerging markets.

A Senior Fellow of Advance HE, an elected Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences (FAcSS), the British Academy of Management (FBAM), and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, his work has been published in well-regarded international business, strategy and interdisciplinary business management journals.

He is also an Associate Editor of Critical Perspectives on International Business and serves on the editorial boards of the British Journal of Management, Journal of World Business, Management International Review, International Studies of Management & Organization, and Multinational Business Review.

Speaking on the honour, Professor Khan said: “Being elected as a Fellow of the British Academy of Management is a deeply meaningful recognition. It reflects not only the work I’ve done over the years but also the collaborative spirit of the international research community I’ve been privileged to be part of. I would also like to sincerely thank the British Academy of Management for this honour, and I look forward to contributing to the Academy’s mission.

“I’m grateful to my co-authors, colleagues, mentors, and students who have inspired and continue to challenge me throughout my career. This Fellowship is a shared recognition of their enduring impact on my career.”

Professor John Skåtun, Head of the Business School, added: “The University of Aberdeen Business School is delighted with this news. Professor Khan’s election to the Fellowship is a testament to the calibre of scholarship and leadership we strive to cultivate.”
