For guidance, we’ve provided the key dates for September 2024 entry in the sections below. Please remember to complete all required steps as soon as possible; you don’t have to wait until the date listed below to complete a step. Please note, all dates will be available in due course.
In some cases where students can clear their conditions and have access to fast-track visa services some flexibility can be provided.

I am a prospective student that requires a student visa
We recommend you apply as soon as possible and preferably by 4th August for September 2024 entry.
You are guaranteed an offer of accommodation in our university-managed residences if you apply for accommodation by 30th August.
Once you have a Student ID you need to set up your IT account and complete multi-factor authentication from August.
You need to complete online registration from August.
Welcome Week starts on 16th September.
Welcome Week is all about helping you settle in and prepare for your academic and non-academic university life.
Teaching starts on 23rd September.
The Final registration date is TBC, unless listed in the table titled 'Deadline Dates' below.

I am a prospective student that does not require a student visa
Applications must be received by 8th September for September 2024 entry.
Accept your offer and send all required documents to the Admissions Team as soon as possible. The deadline is 15th September.
You are guaranteed an offer of accommodation in our university-managed residences if you apply for accommodation by 30th August.

Completing registration by the deadline
*To complete registration by the deadline you must:
- Have carried out the online registration process
- Be in Aberdeen
- Attended an in-person visa check
- Attended any in-person classes for your programme
The University will not permit students to begin their studies online and will not permit you to register after the date specified for your programme.
