Saltire Scholarship

Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships (SSS) is a substantial programme of scholarships, offered on a matched funding basis between the Scottish Government and Scottish universities.

The scheme offers up to 100 awards, each worth £4,000. These are towards the tuition fees, for any one year of full time study, on an Undergraduate, Masters or PhD course at the University of Aberdeen. The scholarships are open to student from Canada, China, India, Pakistan and the United States of America.

International Undergraduate Scholarship

As part of our commitment to attracting the very best students to join our diverse international community, we are delighted to offer the University of Aberdeen International Undergraduate Scholarship. This scholarship is worth one year’s tuition fee and is open to all international undergraduate students studying for 4 years or more at the University of Aberdeen (excludes Medicine). 

What does this mean?

  • If you are an international student entering into an undergraduate degree programme of at least four years duration we will offer you a scholarship equivalent to the tuition fee for your fourth year (excludes medicine)

The University Of Aberdeen and HSBC are looking for fresh talent through a new scholarship scheme worth £99,000 over four years.

Ever thought you would make a fantastic international student in the UK?

If you have answered “Yes” to all these questions, the University of Aberdeen and HSBC are offering you the chance to win a fully funded undergraduate Scholarship for the University of Aberdeen worth £99,000 over four years, which includes tuition fees, travel and maintenance (stipend) costs.

*If the tuition fee is higher than £14,300 as is the case for science degrees, the fee will be met up to the cost of £18,000
**As Fourth year students are not required to pay fees, there will be no scholarship funding for fees in that year.

John Reid Trust Scheme 1959

  • The Trust exists to assist distinguished Aberdeen University graduates, preferably with Honours, and preferably in Arts, which failing, in Science, to continue their studies in Arts or in any other branches of higher learning at any institution outside Scotland.

  • One Carlaw-Ogston Master of Music Scholarship is available for students undertaking a full-time 12 months Master of Music (MMus) postgraduate degree at the University of Aberdeen, beginning in the academic year 2017-18.

Development Trust International Taught Postgraduate Scholarship 2017/18

  • The scholarship is valued at £1,000 which will contribute towards tuition fees. 3 scholarships are available.

Law School Merit Scholarships

  • There are three Law School Merit Scholarships available. The scholarships each offer £6,000 in total for one year. This is part of the Law School Scholarships programme.

OPITO Piper Alpha Memorial MSc Safety Scholarships

  • OPITO, the skills organisation for oil and gas, is offering two OPITO Piper Alpha Memorial MSc Safety Scholarships. Each scholarship is valued at £6,000 for the one year duration of the MSc in Safety and Reliability Engineering for Oil and Gas degree and will contribute towards the students' maintenance costs. This is part of the School of Engineering Postgraduate Scholarships Programme.

The LRF MSc Safety and Reliability Engineering Scholarship

  • The Lloyd's Register Foundation (LRF) which supports the Centre for Safety and Reliability Engineering within the School of Engineering will fund one scholarship of £15,000. This will contribute towards fees and maintenance costs. This is part of the School of Engineering Postgraduate Scholarships Programme.

The Maitland and Halldis Mackie Scholarship

  • There is one Maitland and Halldis Mackie Scholarship available and it is valued at £2,500. Maitland and Halldis Mackie were both graduates and long term supporters of the University of Aberdeen. Dr Mackie was owner and Chairman of Mackie's of Scotland, one of the best known businesses in Scotland and was a very popular Rector of the University of Aberdeen. This is part of the School of Engineering Postgraduate Scholarships Programme.

The Paul Mealor Scholarship for Vocal Composition

  • The Paul Mealor Scholarship for Vocal Composition is available for students studying the MMus in Vocal Music at the University of Aberdeen, beginning in the academic year 2017-18.

Boehringer Ingelheim PhD Scholarships
