US Consul General in Edinburgh Jack Hillmeyer visited the University of Aberdeen on Friday 7 October to talk to students.
Mr Hillmeyer was joined by US Consulate colleagues, Political and Economic Consul Michael Feldman and Programme Manager Patrick Hogan for the session.
As part of Dr Malcolm Harvey's US Politics course, students were able to ask questions across broad topics such as the US relationship with Cuba, the conflict in Ukraine, guaranteeing the Good Friday Agreement, media and elections in the US, the role of religion in US politics... and the best ways to develop skills useful for future careers in the foreign service.
It was a wide-ranging discussion, and the department is grateful to the Consulate team for taking the time to come to Aberdeen.
