The Institute of Biological and Environmental Sciences (IBES) held its annual Post-graduate research conference on the 20th and 21st of April. There was a wide variety of topics for the talks from 3rd year students covering everything from fish health (from SFIRC's students) to bioethanol production from waste. Second year students presented posters throughout the breaks. The majority of talks were very well attended by IBES students and staff with lots of engagement with the audience and presenters.
Representatives of the SFIRC were 2 talks from 3rd year students, Douglas Milne and Rachel Chance and 7 posters from 2nd year students, Ahmed Attaya, Thomas Clark, Marc Faber, Anna Harte, Yeh-Fang Hu, Nabilah Mohamad Ali and Moritz Pohl.
Two prizes were awarded for the best talks, William Morgan and Francesca Mancini and the best poster prize was awarded to Moritz Pohl from SFIRC on effect of selenium supplementation on immune responses in rainbow trout, well done, Moritz!
