The Environmental Modelling Group brings together a multidisciplinary team of researchers, modellers, and technical specialists working at the intersection of environmental science, data analytics, and policy. The group’s expertise spans soil carbon dynamics, greenhouse gas modelling, bioenergy systems, land-use change, and climate mitigation, supported by strong computational and field-based capabilities.
EMG staff collaborate closely with national and international partners across academia, government, and industry to develop models and datasets that inform sustainable land management and the UK’s net zero strategy. Their collective work underpins major research programmes on carbon dioxide removal, bioenergy, and environmental impact assessment, ensuring that scientific insight is translated into practical, policy-relevant outcomes.
