COVID-19 – Continued Access to Library Resources and Services during Library Closures
We would like to reassure all students that a digital library service will continue to be available after our physical libraries close and we will continue to support you in your studies.
Library staff will be working remotely to answer all queries and point you in the direction of appropriate digital material. See below for contact details. We will regularly update the Library web pages with FAQs, but do contact us if you need additional information or assistance.
We are also exploring our current provision of digital resources, so let us know what you need by contacting us at library@abdn.ac.uk and we will see if it is possible to acquire it.
Library Buildings
Taylor Library and Medical Library closed at 5 pm on Tuesday 17 March until further notice.
The Sir Duncan Rice Library (TSDRL) will remain open until 5 pm on Friday 20 March. We are open 8 am – 8 pm on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 March. The Hardback Café and Library Gallery have now closed. Physical access to the Wolfson Reading Room has been suspended and service updates will be provided via our webpages https://www.abdn.ac.uk/special-collections/
Important Information for this week:
- Any borrowed items will automatically be renewed until further notice. Loans will not become overdue and no fines will accrue.
- Books do NOT have to be returned but the option is available. If you do wish to return items in the coming few weeks they can be returned via the Book Drop slot at the front of TSDRL.
- If you require additional loans for when the Library is closed we will be happy to extend loan allowances by up to 10 items – please bring items to the Information Centre for issuing in advance of Friday 20 March at 4.45 pm.
- The option to request items that are currently on loan has been removed from Primo.
- Items can be requested from Taylor Library (now closed) and closed access stores until 3 pm on Friday 20 March by contacting library@abdn.ac.uk.
- We are now unable to process new Inter-Library Loan requests.
