Building on extensive use of the museums and collections in the university's teaching, the new MLitt in Museum Studies (starting September 2013) offers a range of opportunities to consider the history, role and potential of museums in society. It is built around the excellent collections of the University’s museums and uses King’s Museum, the Zoology Museum and other university venues for study and display.

The programme is collaboratively delivered by practising museum professionals and academics from disciplines such as Anthropology, Archaeology, Education and Visual Culture. Courses in those and other disciplines also make use of the museum in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
