Dispute Resolution Professional Network

Dispute Resolution Professional Network

Overview

Welcome to the University of Aberdeen Dispute Resolution Professional Network webpage – we are glad to introduce our international network of professionals working in the area of dispute resolution who regularly contribute to our academic environment through joint research and teaching.

Since 1994, the University of Aberdeen School of Law has been an academic institution committed to the in-depth understanding of dispute resolution by offering a wide range of dispute resolution courses, including undergraduate, postgraduate, professional training and PhD programmes. We are internationally recognised for having created state of the art knowledge including pioneering LLM courses such as professional arbitration skills and international arbitration in the energy sector and delivering a course on international commercial arbitration with an innovative teaching approach based on different theories of international arbitration.

We have also developed online and on-campus programmes and courses (LLM, PgDip, and PgCert) which are flexibly delivered and accredited by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).

Mission

Our mission is to educate current and future generations of lawyers by providing them with knowledge and skills in dispute resolution and to test ideas and contribute effectively and actively to developments in the field. Our goals are based on our values of being a research-led network with strong academic profiles and the University of Aberdeen's Graduate Attributes, including academic excellence and active citizenship, critical thinking and effective communication.
