Can you really Change the World?
There is a lot of hype about social enterprises as a means of solving social problems. But how many are capable of accelerated growth and of going on to create an international and socially sustainable footprint? The business challenges of blending social impact and commercial values in an entrepreneurial organisation are considerable. Few aspire to do it and even few manage to achieve it.
This is the conundrum we are exploring in the second edition of our forthcoming book, “High Impact Social Ventures”. The title moves our discussion on from the first edition’s “Sustainable Social Enterprises”.
This seminar asks the question can a social enterprise really change the world? By borrowing on the idea of high growth firms and combining this with the marketing concept of value added, I will explore what makes “high impact” social ventures special and explore how a select few are capable of changing the world.
So, if you are one of that next generation of aspiring social entrepreneurs and you really want to change the world, maybe, just maybe, we have uncovered the ways you can do that!
