WORKSHOP: Outlier or Leader? Scotland's Approach to Human Rights and International Law
-

The Aberdeen Centre for Constitutional and Public International Law (ACCPIL) invites you to a one-day workshop on the theme 'Outlier or Leader?: Scotland's Approach to Human Rights and International Law'.

International human rights law leader, or outlier in the international system? The Scottish approach to international norms and human rights law has, in recent years, distinguished itself in a context where powerful actors have rejected the relevance of both international law and human rights. This expert workshop will bring together experts in human rights and international law to discuss the Scottish approach, focusing on the challenges and opportunities it presents

Speakers include Professor Marko Milanovic (Reading), Professor Kasey McCall-Smith (Edinburgh), Professor Gerry Simpson (LSE), Dr Frederick Cowell (Birkbeck), Dr Samuel White (UWS), Professor Katie Boyle (Strathclyde), and Professor Alan Miller (Strathclyde).

The workshop is funded by the Scottish Council on Global Affairs (SCGA) as part of the State of the World Project.
